Payal/director Payal Kapadia, who won the Great Prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival for his debut «Revelation Fiction», is researching and celebrating the light, life and textures of the modern workers’ class Mumbai. Two roommates who also work together in the city hospital nurse Pabha (kani kusruuti) and recently hire anu (Divya Pabha), a plus-co-collaborator, Cook Parvatity (Chaya Kadam), Kapadia’s Hopadia and «Cyrounds». Pabha, her husband from the agreed marriage, living in distant Germany, seeks a doctor in her hospital; Anu executes an affair with a Muslim, which she must protect against a strict Hindu family; Parliament faces a sudden eviction of his apartment. Kapadia captures the bustle of the Metropolis and the seaside village with an equivalent radiation, open -air, her great actresses and a camera with lyrical naturalism, which occasionally retreats to the dreamy left. Everything we imagine as a light is the soul study of the transformative friendship and sisters, taking into account its complexity and richness.
